We assume that in a few years we will need much more hydrogen than we do today. Of course, current, and future use of hydrogen will have to be produced cleanly and sustainably, our goal is to achieve this by capturing greenhouse gases from residual gases during production and thus lowering CO² emissionsor going completely CO2-free by producing hydrogen from water with energy from sun and wind. Our association is committed to these objectives.

This means that we must achieve sufficient production capacity in the Netherlands. This hydrogen can be produced in the Netherlands or elsewhere, but import will also be an important source of hydrogen. The Committee on Production of hydrogen frequently discusses the production and import of sustainable hydrogen and how government policy can stimulate this.
